Dallas Teacher Pawns Projector
Thursday, July 21st, 2011A Dallas ISD middle school teacher has been arrested after allegations that she pawned a district owned projector three times in recent months. Pawnshop records show that the teacher Ann Pace Demus pawned an $800 Epson projector at the EZ pawn shop in Pleasant Grove, court documents state. Demus faces a charge of theft over $1500 by a public servent, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in jail and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
Demus, who teaches at Seagoville Middle School has not released a public comment, but did post $1500 bond on monday.
In late June, Dallas ISD police were searching online pawnshop records when they found the district owned projector at a pawnshop. The pawn shop manager told Dallas ISD police that Demus had pawned the projector three times since March.
